The 2020 Census is here! It is incredibly important that all New Yorkers complete their census forms to ensure they’re counted and New York State receives its fair share of federal funding.

 For the first time ever, the U.S. Census Bureau is sending mailings with instructions on how to fill out the forms online. Those who live in areas with low internet usage will also receive a paper form. All families will have the option of responding online, by mail or by phone. 

 Census data is used to distribute more than $675 billion in federal aid to public schools, hospitals, infrastructure, public transit, housing and much more, and each person not counted costs the state over $2,600 a year! Our communities depend on all people filling out the census so that they are counted.
